Can you believe it is almost June already? That means kids are out of school or finishing up! We've been busy with Field Days and end of year parties here. I'm also preparing for my trip to Tulsa, OK next week for our PaperPie National Convention! That means NEW titles are coming ;)

But before we get to that, I wanted to make sure you have the resources you need to prevent that dreaded Summer Slide.

Just 20 minutes a day of reading can help alot, so I have a two fun summer reading opportunities for you!

1. Summer Reading Challenge-7 weeks of reading towards a goal, starting June 1st! Prizes and encouragement along the way!
2. Summer Book Clubs- read any of the 4 selected titles and join a special zoom discussion group at the end of the summer!

SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

We've put together a fun Summer Reading Challenge, full of prizes, fun opportunities to interact over books, and some fun tips to keeping readin fresh all summer long! I would love if you to join me and my kiddos in this challenge! Even if you already signed up for one with your local library, you can do ours as well and rack up those prizes!

There is also a FB challenge group that you can join after registration where we will be posting different reading challenges, sharing updates, and reminders to track your reading progress. We will also have several fun GIVEAWAYS!

I love watching families connect over books and want to help children (and adults) develop and reinforce a reading culture in their homes. The reading challenge will last 7 weeks starting June 1st and ending July 20th. We are encouraging you to set a goal for your child to read or be read to for 600 minutes or read 14 chapter books during that time frame. More information will be sent after registration to help you make this challenge a success!

Summer BOOK CLUBS

I'm excited to offer our first Summer Book Clubs! If you would like to have your kiddos participate in some fun discussion during their summer, these would be a great option. You can sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and Book Club together or separately!

Each book will have a zoom discussion session (likely toward the end of July dates are currently TBD).

Even if your kiddos aren't reading yet or at the level for these books, you can still participate and use these books as summer read-alouds!
